1,000 things

There are a thousand things I want to do! But since you already know that I over-exaggerate, you know that's not entirely true. How 'bout I make a list so we can see how many it really is?
1) Put the bricks around the edges of the flower beds.
2) Ugh. Clean the basement.
3) Make Christmas presents early.
4) Sew the duvet cover for our bed.
5) Harvest my quinoa.
6) Do the touch up paint all over the house.
7) Figure out what in the world we're going to do about the steps and do it.
8) Hang up family photos.
9) Get Mo's allowance system going.
10) Make a baby. Yeah. I said it.
11) Go on dates w/our friends.
12) Investigate the whole electric car thing for Dave. Can you believe he's into that?? Me neither.
13) Get a new digital camera.
14) Clean the fridge. Another ugh.
15) Plant some garlic, onions and stuff that can grow over the winter. Maybe make a hot box??
16) Work on Mo's baby book some more. Fun! I just have so much that I want to put in there...
17) Go pick apples at my aunt and uncle's place up north! (*waving frantically at them*)
18) SAVE (now!), plan (soon!) and go on a Europe trip (next summer!) w/my hot hubby.
19) Go to my grandpa's house and take notes while we talk about all the old pictures. Maybe some day put them in a movie or scrapbook...?
20) Get more washlines in the yard. I think Tracy is willing to donate her old poles to us...?
21) Figure out a system so I don't keep losing all the lists I make! Please laugh at that....!
22) Get my baby girl to eat on her own.
23) Finish writing thank you notes for 2 parties!
24) Get family pics taken - and some of DW and me for our 10th anniversary.
25) Trim the grocery budget. I always say that!
Ok, so I'm only 2 and a half percent of the way there...but there is probably more rambling around in the dark corners of my mind...

Names!

Hi - remember me? Haha - I think I will be posting a little more soon since the foster sisters we had are gone now. Now it's just DW, me, Moses and Fabi - that's what I'm calling the newest foster daughter! I was thinking for a long time about that one...for blogging purposes we obviously cannot share real names, so if you thought naming your kid was hard - try thinking of an imaginary one!! Don't ask how I got this one. Seriously, don't ask. It's way too long of a story and if I told you then I'd have to kill you! KIDDING - isn't that a line from a movie? So anyway, Fabi is freshly 2 and yes, she has a 'tude sometimes. Mostly she is a pretty patient kid and noisy, just wanting to be heard. She sings and waves a lot...she is a snuggler =) She has an NG tube, so we're working on the eating thing. I say she is a patient kid b/c I know I could never sit for 6-8hrs a day, just waiting for the bag to be empty! I'd go crazy. But she rarely complains. She's making progress and we can't wait to see more! It's been a pretty wild month so you know I am looking forward to school, the routine and just some everyday quiet time. Moses will be going to Creative Play this year (we tried it last year, but 'quit') and even though he hasn't met the teacher, I can tell he's getting more excited for this year! He knows her name and he knows a playmate will be in the class w/him. I'm excited b/c this time he's in the class on the north side and they have a gym! My growing boy needs to have large motor time like that =) Well, I have a bunch to do and it's so beautiful outside! Thanks for sticking w/me and please pray for Fabi's progress. Thanks!

Lettuce. Blueberries. Strawberries. Melon. Green beans. Zucchini. Carrots. Ice.

I made a smoothie tonight w/all these ingredients and it was even better than ice cream! I haven't made one in a while, so it probably tasted even better since I missed them so much =)

I haven't posted in a while and that's because we have 3 foster girls here right now. (I think I said that already...!) Anyway, there are tons of things we are doing and we are having a lot of fun. I never thought I would have a 4yo, an almost 4yo, and two 2yos in the house! I think when we go anywhere people are quite surprised by our motley crew! At Boston Store today we loaded up 2 double carts =) It was a lot of fun! I'm tired but honestly, the only real issues we have so far are the fact that they are so busy chattering to each other, we have to repeat ourselves a bunch!! Hello?! Party of 4? Can you hear us?! Everybody to the back door! Let's go! Everybody! Hello?! Thankfully, there have been very few arguments between them. We laugh when we make people out of green beans and eat them, we cheer when the littlest one actually eats and drinks well, we run around the house to burn off energy and the best thing - the best thing is all going to church together. We are so blessed to have a church family that accepts the kids and helps care for them in the nursery and preschool classes! The kids hate it when we show up early and have to wait for the music!
I guess my point of this random rambling is just to say that it's busy, but I/we are still enjoying the pleasures of summer...

And then there were 6!

Me.
Dave.
Moses.
2 temporary foster girls.
1 possible foster-to-adopt girl.

Being one-third of the way to our goal of 12 kids - PRICELESS!!!!

We are hoping that the newest addition to our family so far will be here on Weds! I am learning how to comb little girl hair and I am desperately needing a run to get some pink stuff, princess stuff, etc! LOL! I don't know how to braid, but I can do pony tails and pig tails. And man, I need to get a cow out back b/c these kids are blowing through the milk! I feel like there are a million things I want to do w/the kids and I don't know where to start...we're going to work on the nap routine/schedule tomorrow and I also need to get a few meals prepared ahead. Lately DW and I have been on this big purging and cleaning kick and now we feel like it was a 'nesting' period or something =) I don't know if I can explain how blessed I am feeling right now...

More than the desert needs the rain!

WOW - I will repost here what I wrote on Facebook, b/c I know not all of you are friends w/me there....

It's raining, it's pouring, oh my life is so not boring! We are going to be doing emergency foster care for 2 little girls this weekend only! All of you that have been praying, please keep it up! We'll get to 12 kids at this rate really soon! =)
