No gel

I don't like having my picture taken...

But here's me the last day I had gel in my hair.

And now here's me without gel - Mo took this one.
Ugh...yeah, it's really cripsy and dry. It keeps touching my face. I suppose it doesn't look that different, but it has a lot of flyaways and it's flatter, which I didn't expect. Overall I barely notice. So I think this has been pretty successful. I'll let you know if it changes at all...

I am reading the links you have about naked hair and I am not sure I can do it??? I am interested though. One thing is my hair is heavily processed bleach blonde now. It was very long and dyed red. I gave up dying for bleaching because I am not comfortable with the grey.

About a year ago- I started getting psoriasis on the back of my head and ears. This is before bleaching. I have been told I need to start using tar shampoo... I have gone the other way and shampooing less. I have no idea what to do at this point. I hate the grey- I hate dying my hair, I hate bleaching it, I hate my psoriasis. You get the picture.

Have you heard of henna for dying your hair? I always said I would rather die than dye my hair...it's true! I've heard too many horror stories. But! Alas! That was before I started noticing these stubborn stick straight white hairs in my part. They seem to have some magnetic charge that causes them to stand at attention, reaching for the sky! I know I'm going to have A LOT of white hair sooner rather than later (genetics! this apple won't fall far from the tree), but I guess I didn't count on the way it would make me feel. I always felt good about myself and if I have white hair, so what?? Other cultures see it as a sign of wisdom, right? Yeah, well, when my whiteys are so obvious it's not so easy to keep up that front. Sometimes I wish I was a guy and didn't have that nagging female voice of self-doubt. Anyway, if I can make this long story short, I have given a lot of consideration to the henna highlights. I don't know if I could do it myself!! I would probably seek out a beautician who would do it, or get a group of friends together who are willing to try it w/me. That way, if it makes me look worse, I'll just point out the other ladies and say it's the latest trend =) Read about it online. I don't have the exact site right now, but I'll look for it. No fear - naked hair can't be that bad!
